Begin making art work and RESEARCH

 Please start generating ideas for the first project through the lens of whatever work/ techniques/ skills/ ideas/ you are getting in your advanced studio class.
Follow the steps outlined on Intro to Research.
In the Adv. paint/print class students are looking at murals painted in a "Street Art" style. They are looking at many different mural painting artists, learning how to cut a stencil, starting to think about space and how to create a painting that would help create the illusion of space/depth.  Though they have not begun an actual project for a particular space, they have begun gathering images of work that is inspiring.  They will collaborate to create some design ideas and that could be used on walls, or large scale painting.

Please check this site for information, updates and sharing images. This image is from last year's trip to NYC when we did a workshop at the Guggenheim!!! So awesome!

feels like flying... exciting, scary, beautiful...
Hello New School Year 2014-15!!!
IB class is meant to support you in your journey to testing in March 2015. March assessment is 7 months or 29 weeks from now. Much of what I will be helping you with is your Investigation Work Book (IWB).  We will also address theoretical topics in the world of Art creation.  The class will support your studio work made in other studios.  We will discuss this. For now reflect on what we went over today, let it all sink in. Re-read your Intro. to the IWB handout (tape it into your IWB along the left side.
* Come and pick up your photo from me (125)
* Pay your IOU and gather all materials needed due Monday 9/8
* Look at and attach your calendar to your IWB (every month!)
* Bring back your signed permission to put art on the www and walking field trip.
* Email me ASAP
*Read the Intro. to IWB again and follow the steps to completion.
   This is due next week 9/10.
Please see me and lets talk if you have questions. I am so excited to support this art making journey with you!! -- Ms. Lilly

p.s. all of the handouts are located to the left of this post and you can access or printout.

Wrapping up and Ending on a high note.

As I finish entering grades and we officially enter our last quarter of school this year I must encourage ALL of us to stay strong to the end.  It is a cop out to yourself and the great work you have made earlier in the year to give up now.  Testers I strongly encourage to manage your time and calendar, we are now officially traveling in hyperdrive.  All students should be conscientious of saving digital images to your own portfolio and the class blog site.  Many folks have work to do before the end of the semester finishing/improving artwork from this semester that was unchanged from your RD critique.  I am excited by the work that folks are continuing to improve and impressed with tenacity to develop ideas. Please keep up with the  current CALENDAR for class events, due dates, etc...   Here is some street artwork from Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.
